I have had my camera everywhere with me lately, and this post turned into an entire account of the weekend.
Autumn is here! And there’s no denying it. The late summer we were having, I think, is officially over, and it’s now the season for pumpkins, and baking and orange leaves and mittens!
It is also the season when fires are built and visitors come, and I am thankful for a forced weekend with family. I say forced, because I get so busy, that to have family from out of town, and to have plans together all weekend long means no working. And I love that! And I need that too. It’s good to stop and take stock. To look around. Take some time off.
I am relieved to come away from work, and while the daunting to-do list still sits on my desk, I have enjoyed this long weekend so much.
So, strap in! This is a long post.
Thank you so much beautiful family. xoxo
Elise and Nathan took us deep into the woods at Gowland Tod park a couple of weeks ago, so we take advantage of the gorgeous end-of-summer light. Check out Ruby joon for a sneak peek at their engagement session!
Today, I will be more selfish. My thoughts and my actions will focus around me.
Today, I will go slowly.
Today, I will walk for pleasure as well as for exercise. I will visit the Moss St. Market and along the way, I’ll visit all the leftover garage sales in the neighborhood.
Today, I will focus. And center. And ground.
Today, I will take my camera outside. And I will see through no one’s eyes except my own.
Today, I will stop. And I will nap.
Today, I will treat myself to my favorite hazelnut soy latte.
Today, I will taste my food and I will drink slowly. I will eat only my favorite, colorful, nutritious things.
Today, I will meet friends for dinner. And I might be late. (I make no apologies. :) )
Today, I will turn my face to the sun. And relish the beautiful season.
Today, I am thankful.
